It has become a “national treasure” carrying over 6 million passengers. The paddle steamer, launched in 1947, was gifted for £1 to the Paddle Steamer Preservation Society in 1974 and is owned and maintained by registered charity Waverley Steam Navigation Co. Ltd on its behalf.

You can even watch the paddles turning through the portholes.

The Waverley will be running from Penarth to Portishead and on a cruise of the River Severn and under the iconic bridges, on Saturday, June 1. In north Wales, the Waverley will be sailing from Llandudno to Great Orme, Puffin Island and Seacombe, and Holyhead, to Seacombe and Llandudno, from Monday, June 24 to Wednesday, June 26.
