Dragons' Den's Steven Bartlett denies quitting BBC

Dragons' Den star Steven Bartlett has denied that he is leaving the BBC entrepreneur show.

The businessman became the youngest investor to be part of the show's titular dragons when he joined in 2019, and isn't going anywhere any time soon.

In response to a report that he was stepping down, Bartlett wrote on his Instagram Stories: "I'm not leaving Dragons' Den, it's the last day of filming this series! I was thanking the team for a great season."

The previous Instagram Story that seemingly inspired the report stated: "This year has been my favourite year on Dragons' Den to date! So many incredible entrepreneurs, so much innovation, so much diversity! Today season 21 wraps! Can't wait for season 22 and beyond."

The 21st series was confirmed to be having a few guest panellists join the show to shake up the format a little, with footballer Gary Neville and fashion mogul Emma Grede joining Bartlett, Peter Jones, Deborah Meaden, Touker Suleyman and Sara Davies.

Neville said of his new role: "I am excited to join the Dragons, and to meet the entrepreneurs brave enough to face us in the Den. I hope my personal journey shows that you can take the experiences you've had in one part of your career and use them to do something entirely different and make it a success.

Executive producer Samantha Davis described him as "a great example of someone who took an alternative route into commerce and used his unique skillset to grow a successful portfolio of companies".

Dragons' Den airs on BBC One, and can be streamed on BBC iPlayer.
