Pictures have revealed the dramatic moment a car was flipped onto its roof after 'smashing into a safety barrier' outside a college in Bury.

Emergency services attended the collision on Market Street, near to the interchange and Angouleme Way junction, at around 1.50pm, with the road temporarily blocked off.

It is understood there were no serious injuries reported in the crash. Police, paramedics and fire crews all attended the scene, with pictures showing the yellow car on its roof in the middle of the road.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said: “At around 1.40pm today (Wednesday May 8) one fire engine from Bury fire station attended a crash involving one car and a safety barrier on Market Street, Bury.

“Firefighters worked alongside North West Ambulance Service and Greater Manchester Police to make the area safe and were in attendance for around 50 minutes.”

Greater Manchester Police and the North West Ambulance Service have been approached for further details.
