‘EastEnders’ tonight: Can Kheerat save Suki after Ravi’s bombshell?

The Panesars fight to save matriarch Suki (Balvinder Sopal) in tonight’s game-changing episode of EastEnders, as Kheerat (Jaz Deol) reacts to a shocking revelation from half-brother Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara).

Previously on the soap, which airs tonight at 7.30pm on BBC One, Suki was arrested for the murder of Ravi’s adoptive father Ranveer (Anil Goutam).

She currently believes that she is guilty, and had already confessed to her family that she killed Ranveer in self-defence after he tried to sexually assault her.

Little do they all know that it was actually Ravi who delivered the fatal blow, after Suki fled and Ranveer regained consciousness. But while Ravi has managed to keep his actions under wraps, some other secrets have come to light.

Not only is Ravi the biological son of Suki’s estranged husband Nish (Navin Chowdhury), but he has also been having an affair with Doctor Nina Gupta (Hersha Verity) — Ranveer’s wife.

The pair have been plotting to get their hands on Ranveer’s money all along, with Ravi revealing that the man who raised him had made his life hell.

While Suki was questioned by detectives, Ravi destroyed Suki's alibi and later told Kheerat and Nish that Nina has possession of incriminating footage that could seal Suki’s fate.

What he failed to add was that this footage originally showed the moment Ravi became a killer, and he edited it after disposing of the body.

When EastEnders returns, Kheerat is furious over Ravi’s bombshell. As yet more news reaches him, Kheerat will go to drastic lengths to try to help his mum. But what will he do? Will his plan work?

We can’t give anything away, but we can tease that what lies ahead is an unmissable instalment of drama which changes everything for those involved.

Watch out for a particularly powerful performance from Deol, as Kheerat takes his place as head of the family in Suki’s absence. All eyes will be on him, but there’s also devious Nina to consider. Will she use the footage to set up Suki?

As for long-term prospects in this complex storyline, there’s still a lot to explore about Panesar patriarch Nish. Kheerat is still wary of the man after his mum explained how controlling Nish can be.

With the manipulative Nish intent on making his presence felt, what will his next move be? And will he discover the strong connection between his wife and Eve Unwin (Heather Peace)?
