East Lothian police respond to 'dangerous' reports of youths trespassing on train lines

Police responded to "concerning" reports of youths on train lines in East Lothian.

British Transport Police said officers were informed of a group throwing stones at moving trains near Wallyford Station. A group were also on lines near Musselburgh on Sunday.

Officers branded the incidents "dangerous". They urged individuals to stay off train lines.

British Transport Police East Scotland said: "Yesterday, officers responded to reports of youths throwing stones at trains near Wallyford Station.

"Today, we’ve responded to reports of youths trespassing on lines near Musselburgh. These reports are very concerning and dangerous.

"Stay off the lines and don’t throw stones at trains!"

Police Scotland have been approached for comment.
