EastEnders' Diane Parish shares sweet reunion as she supports co-star

EastEnders actress Diane Parish has shared a sweet photo of her reunion with Tameka Empson, as she supported her on-screen sister's new stage project.

Parish, who plays Denise Fox in the BBC soap, shared a photo on Instagram of herself and Empson with their arms around each other in the bar of Theatre Royal Stratford East, where Empson is currently starring in stage musical The Big Life.

"What a night! What an absolute STONKER of a performance from my darling Lil Sis @official_tameka_empson in The Big Life at Theatre Royal Stratford East," Parish captioned the photo.

"So proud of this comedic, powerhouse character actress and her writing talents too! Fantastic cast, great ska music numbers, wonderful show about the Windrush generation. Seeing my mum's face watching and laughing as it brought back memories for her was moving."

She finished her post with: "Love you Sis".

EastEnders stars past and present shared their love for the pair in the comments, with James Farrar (Zack Hudson), Tamzin Outhwaite (Mel Owen) and Patsy Palmer (Bianca Jackson) all posting hearts in response to the photo.

Empson made a temporary exit from Albert Square earlier this year, as her character, Kim Fox, headed off to work on a cruise ship with her partner, Howie Danes.

The actress later reassured fans during an appearance on The One Show that Kim is "gonna be okay" and will "be enjoying herself" during her time away from Walford.

Unfortunately, Denise isn't having such a good time. With her guilt over her role in covering up the murder of Keanu Taylor becoming increasingly overwhelming, Denise has been sectioned after experiencing frightening episodes of psychosis.

EastEnders airs on Mondays - Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer, where most episodes drop early at 6am ahead of their TV broadcast.
