EastEnders: So, about those Roxy return rumours...

From Digital Spy

EastEnders aired the final scenes of fan favourites Roxy and Ronnie Mitchell (or at least their corpses) this week, while at the same time Phil Mitchell has been speaking to a mystery caller on the phone.

COINCIDENCE? ...Yes, actually.

Fans somehow convinced themselves that Roxy (Rita Simons) had faked her death and was keeping in secret contact with Phil (Steve McFadden) but last night's (January 20) episode of the long-running soap revealed all...

Remember Tony? He was the man who was originally meant to receive a liver, but unfortunately he was too unwell so that liver went to Phil instead.

No, he's not back from the dead either. Phil actually met up with Tony's son Aaron, where the famous 'ard man talked about his survivor's guilt and desire to be there for the boy in lieu in place of his recently deceased dad.

So unless Roxy has reincarnated herself as a young boy we think this particular myth is busted.

And if Roxy has somehow returned from the grave as a young boy then EastEnders really isn't what it used to be.

Phil has had a pretty rough few days after discovering that he's got a new son of his own, before saying an emotional goodbye to the newborn, who is being put up for adoption.

EastEnders airs weeknights on BBC One.
