Eddie Kadi says he was booted from Strictly at the 'right time'
The star said he feels like a winner
What did you miss?
Eddie Kadi has said he thinks it the right time for him to leave Strictly.
The BBC Radio presenter received his marching orders from the BBC ballroom contest in Week Five, after failing to win over judges Shirley Ballas, Anton Du Beke, Motsi Mabuse and Craig Revel Horwood with his moves after he and his pro partner Karen Hauer landed in the dreaded dance-off.
But appearing on ITV's Lorraine, he insisted he felt "like a winner" anyway.
What, how, and why?
Kadi, 40, admitted that he battled some nerves on the show, saying stand up was his "comfort zone".
And he told host Christine Lampard, who was filling in for Lorraine Kelly, that he thought his elimination came at the right time for him.
"There is only one person who can lift that Glitterball, so you may come out Week One or you may come out Week 13," he said.
"But for me it felt like the right time you know? I got so much out of it, so much growth.
"I was able to, like I said, showcase my culture, Afro beats, and I'm a radio presenter that showcases Afro beats music worldwide. So for me to have that opportunity and that be the last dance that I did was phenomenal.
"And the love that I have got from people... I feel like a winner."
Who does Eddie want to win?
The star was asked who should win the competition, and although he didn't say for sure, he did name Bobby Brazier, Adam Thomas, Nigel Harman and Angela Rippon.
"Do you know what?" he said.
"Listen, my guy Bobby is like, Roberto I call him. He's just such a lovely guy for a 20-year-old, so well brought up and he's done so well."
He went on: "Adam Thomas is a crazy guy but he's such a lovely man, he's putting in effort.
"Nigel Harman is a dark horse, and Angela Rippon - who I call Stretch Armstrong because every single week she is getting longer and longer."
"It's a game that everyone is enjoying and I hope that they are still continuing to enjoy it for sure," he added.
Strictly continues on 28 October at 6.45pm on BBC One.
