Emmerdale: Lives hang in the balance amid shock new murder twist
Deadly surprises as 'Super Soap Week' continues.
What did you miss?
It all kicked off on Emmerdale on Thursday evening, as a dramatic week of events took a deadly turn, leaving viewers on the edge of their seats.
The aftermath of Emmerdale’s shocking car crash saw Chloe (Jessie Elland) undergo brain surgery as boyfriend Mackenzie (Lawrence Robb) covered his guilt over saving estranged wife Charity (Emma Atkins) from the wreckage instead.
But the biggest twist in the latest episode came when Amit (Anil Goutam) hinted that he had murdered his late brother, the much-missed Rishi (Bhasker Patel).
What, how, and why?
Chloe’s sister Amy (Natalie Ann Jamieson) raced to the hospital to see her comatose sibling, and a waiting game began as she and Mack visited her bedside.
Mack failed to admit to Amy that he had chosen Charity over Chloe, and so will feel responsible if she dies. Charity was also fixated on Mack’s choice, but for different reasons.
Meanwhile, viewers heard Amit talking to Rishi via flashback, before Amit suffered a panic attack as a result of what was haunting him.
Suni (Brahmdeo Shannon Ramana) was shaken when his father mentioned that he should never have “come back”.
It looks very much like Amit killed beloved character Rishi…
What else happened on Emmerdale?
Cain (Jeff Hordley) and Caleb (William Ash) met with villain Harry (Robert Beck), but not before we saw Chas (Lucy Pargeter) all tied up in his car.
As Harry demanded cooperation in his dodgy deals and threatened the Dingle family, Cain and Caleb aimed to use nephew Aaron’s (Danny Miller) stolen cash to pay him off.
Sam (James Hooton) attacked wife Lydia’s (Karen Blick) rapist, Craig (Ben Addis), at his office, stopping only when Mandy (Lisa Riley) and Lydia intervened.
Vile Craig continued to deny any wrongdoing, and his denial made Lydia sick — until she found the strength to tell him she wasn’t going to let him get away with what he’d done.
What’s next?
Well, we’re expecting news on Chloe as her fate remains in limbo. Will she die, or recover enough to challenge Mack over letting her fall from the cliff?
In a week famously dubbed ‘Super Soap Week’ for ITV, it would be surprising for Emmerdale not to kill someone off. So, if not Chloe, could Mack or Charity succumb to hidden internal injuries instead? If not, though, Charity looked to be eyeing up a romantic reunion with Mack — is that on the cards? Please, no.
Perhaps Chas will end up dead at Harry’s hands, and is there more to Aaron’s involvement than being forced to give up that £30k for the mum he currently hates?
Will Suni uncover a deadly secret after Amit’s “slip of the tongue”? Amit clearly shared some kind of reunion with Rishi before the latter’s demise, and we already don't trust him.
Finally, as Lydia bravely seeks justice, will Craig pay? Or might Sam enlist the Dingle army to dish out his own version?
Emmerdale continues on Friday, 13 October in an hour-long instalment at 7pm on ITV
