England's European Championship 2024 campaign is set to kick off on Sunday afternoon, as they go head-to-head with Aleksandr Mitrovic's Serbian team in Gelsenkirchen.

Gareth Southgate's men enter the tournament as favourites to lift the trophy on July 14. They'll face Serbia, Denmark, and Slovenia in Group C, before potentially tough knockout rounds.

The tournament got underway on Friday when hosts Germany hammered Scotland 5-1, but all eyes will be on England's clash with Serbia, a match that's sure to have the nation glued to their screens.

Despite what looks like a relatively straightforward group stage draw, Serbia could pose a significant challenge for Southgate's golden generation.

With Mitrovic and Dusan Vlahovic spearheading the attack, and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Sasa Lukic providing support, Serbia come into the tournament on a high after a convincing win over Sweden in their final pre-tournament friendly.

England are looking to start their quest for glory in style. Even without Marcus Rashford, James Maddison, Raheem Sterling, and Jack Grealish, the squad is still packed with talent.

The game at the Arena AufSchalke in Gelsenkirchen will be broadcast live around the globe. For fans in the UK, coverage starts at 7pm on BBC One, BBC Sport Online, and BBC iPlayer.

ITV had the honour of airing the tournament's first three matches, which included Germany v Scotland, Hungary v Switzerland and Spain v Croatia. Their first England match will be the group's final against Slovenia on Tuesday 25 June.
