A dietician has unravelled the nuanced intricacies of your water consumption routine, including how much you should drink every day, as well as one frequent gaffe people tend to make in their water-drinking habits. Embarking on a fitness journey, trying to shed some pounds or simply striving for a healthy existence, sufficient water intake is a non-negotiable part of the deal.

However, the vast array of conflicting health advice circulating around can leave many perplexed. It becomes vital, then, to heed only expert advice on the quantity of water that should be consumed per day.

Recently, diet guru Orla Walsh enlightened RTE listeners on the exact amount of water we must gulp down each day, reports the Irish Star.

She said: "Generally we need somewhere between 1.7 to 2.7 litres a day, because we do get some through our food and some from our break down of food into energy."

She also pointed out an error which many commit - the neglect of consistent hydration throughout the day, leading to excessive water intake during the evenings. The key, she emphasises, is a steady spread of your liquids from the moment you get up, rather than a sudden deluge in one go.
