Former Home and Away star Lincoln Lewis discusses new passion after lockdown

Former Home and Away star Lincoln Lewis has opened up about how he's been spending his time during the lockdown in Australia, and revealed a surprise new passion as he did so.

While most of us have been spending lockdown baking and binge-watching, Lincoln has been keeping busy by taking up two new hobbies – taking a stunt course, and investing in hives for Australia's native stingless bees.

"I ultimately want to get to 100 hives," Lincoln told The Daily Telegraph, explaining that he already has five hives at his home in Brisbane.

"I love being near the beach, but one day it would be cool to have a house where I can grow all my own food, have my bees everywhere and you can live reasonably off the stuff that you grow," he added.

Lincoln previously starred as Geoff Campbell on Home and Away between 2007 and 2010, and last year he made a return trip to Summer Bay as he revisited one of the TV series' iconic landmarks.

After leaving the soap, Lincoln went on to feature in a multi-episode arc on Neighbours, playing the role of Dominic Emmerson in 2012, and also featured in M Night Shyamalan's After Earth, alongside Will Smith and his son Jaden.

Speaking to the publication, Lincoln also explained that he undertook a stunt course to make himself more employable after the entertainment industry had been hit badly by coronavirus.

"I now have the basic training to handle seven or eight different types of guns," he added.

Earlier this year, Lincoln revealed that he'd pitched a potential return for his Home and Away character Geoff to the soap bosses, but said that they'd "ghosted" him in reply.

"I actually pitched a storyline for the Home and Away producers at the start of the year about reprising Geoff, but they ghosted me!" Lincoln told Neighbours star Takaya Honda on his video interview series Tak Talks.

"But it is what it is, that's the industry. That's just like going for an audition, you don't hear back. That's the way it goes."

Home and Away airs weekdays at 1.15pm and 6pm on Channel 5 (UK) and Mondays to Thursdays at 7pm on Channel 7 (Australia).
