One of Glasgow's most popular bakeries is heading to a new location and the city's food fans have been excited to find out where it will be.

Jacky Stabler, owner of hugely popular east-end bakery Full Circle Bakes, recently confirmed that the shop was moving to a bigger unit elsewhere in the city after a successful three years on Cumbernauld Road in Haghill.

And now the bakery owner has spoken to Glasgow Live to reveal that they'll be coming to the south side this summer with a massive new shop. The popular baker revealed that they will be opening a new location at 465 Victoria Road.

The Scottish Baker of the Year finalist said: "It is incredibly exciting to be making a move like this, I still can't quite believe we managed to get the unit we managed to get, but it just feels like a no-brainer now to make this move. It still feels wild to me that we are at the stage in our business where we can make a move like this."

The filled cookie and brownie specialist first started the business as a postal drop in 2019, before opening the east end unit during lockdown.

Now they'll be opening a much bigger spot close to Queen's Park with seating inside and out (weather permitting of course).

The entrepreneur is delighted to be joining the south side community, stating: "When I have a day off, I go to Victoria Road, I go to Queen's Park to walk my dog around the park, I go there as sort of a treat to myself. So it is so exciting that we are going to now be a part of that community which draws so many people down."

She added that it was sad to be leaving the east end but revealed that they just couldn't find a unit that was as big or as accommodating as the new south side one.

Jacky said: "It is really sad leaving the east end because that was my first shop, my first proper kitchen space, I really learned how to run a business like this from my time there.

"It's always going to have a massive spot in my heart. I've lived in Dennistoun for eight years now and have such a love for the east end, but we are at a point in the business now where we have to go bigger.

"We aren't leaving the east end because we don't want to be there anymore – far from it. We are just going to be able to do more with this new southside location."

Although the shop is moving, Jacky confirmed that the commercial kitchen will still remain in the city's east end.

And when it comes to what people can expect, customers old and new can enjoy the full Full Circles Bakes experience.

"We very much specialise in all things cookies, as well as having a variety of other delicious baked goods," stated Jacky, "I am a professionally trained pastry chef so I really like to make baked goods that have interesting flavours that are not your everyday flavours but are also still approachable. Flavour combinations you're not used to but very much recognisable. It's cookies with a twist."

The new dog-friendly spot will be opening ahead of summer with Jacky and the team targeting the start of June for opening.

Jacky said: "I am aiming for the first of June, so we can really nail down all of the specifics, it's a much bigger shop than Cumbernauld Road and in a much busier area, I just wouldn't want to open if we weren't ready I want people to experience Full Circle Bakes at its best."

As well as all of their delicious bakes, Jacky confirmed that everyone who comes to the new store will find it to be both accessible and inclusive.

"I am autistic, and I have ADHD so as well as running the bakery, I like to raise awareness and acceptance around neurodivergence and other disabilities," explained the baker. "This is something we factor into our shop and our service.

"The new shop will be fully accessible, we put a lot of work and training into making our service incredibly friendly, so no matter who you are and how difficult you might find social situations, we are a safe space for people to come and know that they can come to Full Circle Bakes and be treated with kindness."

Speaking on Instagram, Jacky added that there will be more updates over the next few weeks on the progress of the fit out, the new menu, and everything else fans will need to know.

She said: "But for now, I just want to thank you all for your continued support of me, and Full Circle Bakes, and for making a move like this possible."
