Gemma Collins has revealed why she has been thrown out of the Dancing On Ice contestants WhatsApp group.

Collins, who has been partnered with professional skater Matt Evers for the new series, explained that her honesty caused her to be removed from the group chat. The group had been created by the other celebrities taking part in the competition in 2019.

And it isn’t a one-off incident as the Mirror reported the ‘GC’ admitting: “They blocked me from the WhatsApp group twice.

“I just tell it how it is, so I’ve been barred from the group twice.”

Despite the ban, Collins insisted that there was no bad blood between her and her fellow DOI co-stars.

Having previously quit I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here after just a few days in the jungle, Collins promised that she won’t do the same with DOI.

“I’m going to prove a lot of people wrong and that’s the bit I can’t wait for. If they said ‘we’re filming the show tomorrow, are you ready?’, (I’d say) ‘hell yes I’m ready!

“I’m not here to take part, I’m here to take over. I’ve got fighting spirit on this show. Everyone thought I was going to quit but I’m still here,” she added.

“It’s not like we’ve stopped our lives just to get on the ice. I’ve been doing a lot of work, we’ve all got families and Christmas.”

Whilst Collins continues with her rehearsals before she takes to the ice in front of a live audience on January 6, DOI host Holly Willoughby recently revealed that she would never appear on the show as a contestant.

She said: “My kids are really excited about Dancing On Ice. They love it. They love coming down to rehearsals. Because it’s on a Sunday, they’re not at school so can come down and hang out.”

“My children would love to see me skating on the show,” the mum of three continued to comment. I’ve been skating with them and can sort of get around. I’ll do it for fun at this time of year but not dancing.”

She went on to add: “Nothing is out of the question but it is probably highly unlikely for me to go anywhere near the ice.”
