Glasgow cookie shop hits out at rude celebrity band who ghosted them after special order

A popular Glasgow cookie shop has taken to social media after they were ghosted by a band following a special request.

Rude Cookies, located on Minard Road in Shawlands, has become known for their wonderful creations including uncanny edible celebrity portraits.

They have managed to gift their wonderful snacks to American rapper Macklemore, Scottish music superstar Lewis Capaldi and Milkshake singer Kelis.

However, the pair behind the sweet treats, Aga Taylor and Magda Lo Bianco, have called out a celebrity band on Instagram after they asked for gluten free cookies but failed to thank the Glasgow bakers for their efforts.

In a video on their account they said: "A band that we are listening to messaged us on Instagram and we were like this is surreal, this is not happening.

"They said they loved us and our content and that they wanted to invite us to their concert in Glasgow and that we are on the VIP guest list.

"We were super excited and of course we made some personalised cookies more for ourselves and the content but they saw the video of that and messaged us again saying they loved the cookies.

"They asked us if we could make a few gluten-free cookies because one of the group members is gluten intolerant. We do not offer gluten-free cookies at all, it's just too risky in case someone has celiac disease but they said it was only a mild intolerance.

"So we said we'd try. It took us a full working day to a master a gluten-free recipe for sugar cookies that tastes nice."

After making the fresh batch Rude Cookies asked how would be best to deliver the gifts to the unnamed band, however, they never responded.

The pair headed to the concert in the hopes of handing over the treats.

The video goes on: "Thankfully I was really close to the stage so I literally shouted 'I've got a gift for you'.

"They grabbed the cookies and that was it. No thank you, no nothing. It would be different if it was the personalised cookie that we made because we wanted to make it.

"But they actually requested something from a small business that takes hours and hours to make and paint it."

Rude Cookies say they messaged the band on Instagram and said the encounter had left the business with a "bad taste in their mouth".

The group reportedly apologised and posted the sweet treats to their Instagram story. Followers were quick to ask who the mysterious band in the story are, however, the Glasgow bakery has not named them yet.
