Glaswegians have been soaking up the sun ahead of a scorching weekend.

Our photographer has captured several pictures of locals basking in the sun today (Friday, May 10) in George Square.

In the images, crowds can be seen enjoying the sunny weather.

It comes as temperatures in Glasgow have hit highs of 21C - according to the Met Office.

However, the weather firm has said temperatures will rise to highs of 23C during the day on Saturday, May 11, in the city.

Meanwhile, on Sunday, May 12, the Met Office is predicting temperatures to sit around 21C throughout the day.

We recently reported the city is set to be as hot as Ibiza this weekend.

Different parts of the country are set to bask in the heat after the bank holiday washout.
