One of Oxfordshire's oldest law firms has opened the doors of its new office in Chipping Norton.

Hedges has recently launched a new office on the Chipping Norton High Street, adding to its existing range of sites across the county.

The wide-reaching expansion was marked off with a festive gathering, which was attended by leading figures including attorney general Victoria Prentis MP, and artist Elaine Kazimierczuk.

The event saw guests enjoying a range of canapes from nearby boutique eatery Pink Salt Shed and some goodies from the independent shops in the area.

A raffle and silent auction were also held at the event, raising over £2,500 for The Branch Trust.

The charity, in collaboration with Hedges, assists West Oxfordshire residents facing deprivation and life challenges.

The law firm has been providing legal support across the county for 235 years, including services such as advice on wills, probate, inheritance planning, property law and conveyancing, dispute resolution, and family issues like divorce.

The firm already has offices in Summertown and Wallingford.

The firm's managing director, Nicola Poole, said: "It’s wonderful that we’re now open in Chipping Norton and we’re looking forward to welcoming and supporting people of the town and beyond.

"We’re proud to be part of the fantastic Chipping Norton community and to have helped maintain an economically healthy and vibrant High Street.

"We’ve created a beautiful space that is modern and welcoming whilst maintaining elements of classic Cotswold style which truly represents who we are.

"We’ve already forged some exciting relationships with local charities and businesses and we can’t wait to meet more people in the area and help where needed."

She added: "It’s another exciting milestone in Hedges’ rich history in Oxfordshire.

"The business has been through four different centuries, and we’re privileged to help people across the county."

The new premises, which was formerly a newsagent, was at the centre of conversations in the area due to it being vacant for some time.

The building has now been renovated to create a contemporary, inviting space complete with upcycled furniture and sustainable design choices.

Matthew Cotton, the firm's senior associate, added: "We’ve received such a warm welcome in Chipping Norton and the party was a great way to celebrate cementing our place in this wonderful community.

"The name Hedges has long been synonymous with excellence and we’re looking forward to bringing this to Chipping Norton and the surrounding areas."

The Chipping Norton expansion follows a period of rapid growth for the employee-owned firm, which currently employs 50 staff.
