Holly Willoughby receives £200,000 pay rise - now she's FINALLY on the same wage as co-host Phillip Schofield

Holly Willoughby has finally been awarded the same salary as her This Morning co-host Phillip Schofield.

Despite presenting the popular ITV show together since 2009, the 36-year-old has reportedly only just been given a £200,000 pay rise, meaning she now earns the same as Schofield.

According to the Mirror, Willoughby’s hike in salary comes after ITV producers realised she and Schofield earned the same for Dancing on Ice, but not the morning magazine show.

Now the pair reportedly take home a whopping £600,000 each for their daytime slot.

A source claimed ITV decided on the increase during negotiations for the upcoming series of Dancing On Ice – which the pair will also be fronting later this year.

It is thought that producers felt it unfair the duo are paid the same £200,000 salary for the reality ice-skating show, but not for their weekly duties on the hugely popular This Morning.

‘It seemed ridiculous they were going to get paid the same fee for Dancing on Ice but Holly was lagging behind on This Morning,’ a source told the paper.

‘Quite rightly, that has now been rectified and they both earn exactly the same.’

Last year 54-year-old Schofield said he had signed a new two-year deal for This Morning and declared he would quit if Willoughby ever left.

The duo first met when they hosted the original series of Dancing On Ice back in 2006.

Willoughby then joined Schofield on This Morning in 2009 following the departure of Fern Britton – who reportedly quit due to the pay gap between her and Schofield.

News of Willoughby’s pay rise however comes a matter of weeks after the huge pay gap between men and women at the BBC emerged.

The shocking list revealed a third of its highest-paid stars were women, with seven male stars paid more than the BBC’s biggest earning female presenter, Claudia Winkleman, who is on up to £500,000.

More than 40 well-known female presenters have already written to BBC boss Lord Hall demanding he put men and women on equal levels of pay immediately.
