I’m A Celebrity 2016: ITV to donate phone vote fund to Make-A-Wish UK

A new series of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! is right around the corner, meaning that there will be another opportunity to watch celebrities endure torture in Bushtucker Trials – but this year it’s even better.

ITV has joined forces with Make-A-Wish UK, who are the new beneficiary charity for the reality show, and show bosses have confirmed that 15p from every phone vote will be donated to the charity.

This is the first time I’m A Celebrity has worked in partnership with Make-A-Wish UK, an organisation that grants magical wishes to enrich the lives of children and young people fighting life-threatening conditions.

So while we all pick up the phone with the distinct hope that a Gillian McKetih-style fainting incident will be reenacted in the jungle, we now know that it’s all for a good cause too, making it completely worthwhile.

“We’re really pleased to be joining forces with Make-A-Wish UK for this series of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here,” said Sibohan Greene, ITV’s Head of Entertainment. “The charity does amazing work to help children’s lives in the UK and we’re really happy to help support this.”

Richard Cowles, the show’s Executive Producer, added: “We are delighted that I’m A Celebrity will be supporting Make-A-Wish UK. While the celebrities might be finding it hard in camp, I am sure they will take some comfort in the knowledge that money raised will benefit such a fantastic cause.”

So who’s in line for the delectable dining option of wichetty grubs and camel penis’ this year? Boxing star Tyson Fury is rumoured to be packing a punch in the jungle, alongside Made In Chelsea’s Spencer Matthews and Craig Charles who are both allegedly making a return to the camp.

I’m A Celebrity returns to ITV in November.
