Jay Slater's parents break silence after police meeting as cops swoop on Airbnb

Jay Slater’s parents have made a desperate plea to keep the case alive after a meeting with police. But frantic Debbie Duncan, who is missing Jay's mum as well as dad Warren, have also moved to say they’re no closer to finding him as the search in Tenerife was called off this weekend.

The pair say they are still no closer to getting any answers on Jay's disappearance. Debbie told The Sun: “It’s a mystery and he’s still missing, we need to just let these guys (the police) get on with it.” She continued to urge the public to not forget about their son saying: “Let’s keep it going, keep it alive.

“Let them (the police) get on with it, we’ve got to trust in these people.” Jay’s parents were briefed by detectives at the Civil Guard’s local headquarters in Playa de Las Americas before the search for the missing apprentice bricklayer was called off.

Speaking from Tenerife, Warren added they would return to the police station “when they ask us to”. A family source from the UK said on Sunday: “Jay’s family can’t help thinking the trolls have won and that they have got the way.

"So many people have been putting horrible messages out there which has only added to the family’s torment." Debbie urged the public to not forget about their son on Tuesday after a crunch talk with cops in the Canary Islands.

It comes as cops spent two hours looking inside the Airbnb Jay stayed in before he vanished. Debbie and Warren have been in Tenerife searching for Jay for over two weeks after he vanished following a night out in the Spanish holiday hotspot.

The search for Jay was abruptly ended on Sunday with the 19-year-old who was on holiday with pals, missing for over two weeks now.
