Jodie Foster's Wife Alexandra Hedison Shares Birthday Tribute to Actress: 'Loving You Is Easy as Cake'

Jodie Foster's birthday celebration included a sweet tribute from wife Alexandra Hedison.

The Oscar winner turned 61 on Sunday. On Instagram, Hedison, 54, shared a photo of Foster smiling with a birthday cake, and wrote in the caption, "Loving you is easy as cake. Happy birthday, beautiful ❤️."

In the comment section, Chelsea Handler wrote, "Happy Birthday, Jodie!!" and Helen Hunt also added, "Happy Birthday Jodie!!!!! ❤️."

The Nyad actress and Hedison married after a year of dating in 2014. A source told PEOPLE at the time, "They are very private when they’re around people they don’t know. But when they’re together, it can be like they’re in their own world.”

Although the two have kept much of their relationship out of the limelight, Hedison has been vocal about supporting her wife.

When Foster was nominated for a Golden Globe in 2021, Hedison shared a photo of herself taking a picture of Foster on Instagram next to the caption, "What happens in quarantine stays in quarantine. Every day I'm a proud wife but today you get a special shout out in the remote land of IG."

While accepting the best supporting actress award from home, Foster reciprocated the love by kissing Hedison during her acceptance speech and proclaiming, "I love my wife! Thank you, Alex, and Ziggy [her dog] and Aaron Rodgers."

The celebration continued in July 2021, when Foster was awarded the Honorary Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival, and the two appeared on the red carpet together.
