The threatening behaviour charge against Katie Price's boyfriend Carl Woods has been dropped by police due to lack of evidence.

The 33-year-old car salesman had pled not guilty to using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour relating to an incident involving the 44-year-old reality star in August 2021.

But charges have been dropped due to lack of evidence.

A spokesperson for the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) said: “The CPS has an obligation to keep cases under continuous review.

"As part of our review and in accordance with our legal test we concluded that there was no longer a realistic prospect of conviction and the case was stopped.

“The Crown Prosecution Service takes seriously all situations where a person’s behaviour causes fear and we will seek to prosecute suspects when our legal test is met.”

Woods appeared at Colchester Magistrates' Court in March 2022, supported by Price, where he entered a plea of not guilty and was granted unconditional bail.

The trial which was due to begin on Thursday 16 June, has now been scrapped.

Prosecutor Leigh Hart told the court back in March that Woods entered into, "an argument with his partner" at home.

Hart went on: “This resulted in his partner leaving his property to go to another property."

“The defendant followed her and attempted to force the door of that property and was heard shouting outside in the street which was overheard by neighbours.”

Defending barrister Mark Davies dismissed the incident as, “nothing more than a squabble”.

If found guilty, Woods faced a maximum sentence of six months in prison.

He spoke out after he was charged with a public order offence in relation to an incident last year.

A month Woods' arrest, Price herself was arrested and charged with driving under the influence after being involved in a car crash near her home in the early hours of the morning.

The former glamour model, who has previously spoken about her treatment for cocaine addiction, returned to The Priory rehabilitation clinic following her arrest and has since spoken about hitting rock bottom.

Price began dating Woods in June 2020 and in April 2021 they announced they were engaged to be married – her seventh engagement. Last year she stopped wearing her engagement ring and Woods deleted some of his social media posts including her, sparking rumours of a split. But she and Woods have recently supported each other in court.

Price recently pleaded guilty to breaching a restraining order against ex-husband Kieran Hayler's partner.

The former glamour model has just escaped a jail sentence for speeding charges, which took place just days before her drink-drive crash.
