The Mucky Mansion has been a big part of Katie Price's life and the property has hit headlines over the years from break-ins and a rat invasion.

Price was recently declared bankrupt again and now it is rumoured she could be leaving the place she has called home for 10 years. Bankruptcy is a legal process where a person or business is unable to repay debts. The former glamour model was first declared bankrupt in 2019.

Price has lived at the property in Horsham, West Sussex since she first bought the home for £1.3m in 2014. Cabinet Office minister, Francis Maude MP, was the previous owner of the property. Since 2014, the mum-of-five has lived there with her children Harvey, Junior, Princess, Jett and Bunny.

The Mucky Mansion garnered its reputation for being "mucky" after it was neglected and fell into disrepair. It even had a problem with rats and has previously been the target of vandals. But it was given a new lease of life when Price transformed her home for reality show Katie Price's Mucky Mansion.

It seems Price has had a change of heart since last year when she claimed she had no plans of leaving her home the Mucky Mansion. She said no one could take it from her, even with her spiralling debts. She told The Guardian: "People write about me as if I’ve not got a pot to p**s in. My £2.5m house is protected. It’s mine – no-one can ever take it."

This week rumours were swirling that Price is considering packing up and leaving the Mucky Mansion for good after living there for a decade with her family. It's believed Price could be eyeing up a move to West Yorkshire.

A source told The Sun: "Katie is sick of the Mucky Mansion and sees no future there now. She wants to move into her dream home and she reckons this could be it. Quite how it would work given her financial problems is a mystery, but she’s got it in her head this is happening."

Yahoo News has reached out to Katie Price's representative for further comment.

The TV star's romance with Married At First Sight star JJ Slater has been heating up in recent weeks and it's reported the couple have set their hearts on moving in together, amid rumours she's leaving the Mucky Mansion for good.

Price, who has been engaged eight times, even hinted that she could be heading down the aisle again on social media. She shared a photograph of a neon sign saying: Will you marry me? She confirmed she had embarked on a new relationship in February and since then it's been a whirlwind. They have already been on a romantic skiing break as well as enjoying date nights out in London.

In March, the celebrity couple opened up about the public's reaction to their relationship. "They've actually been alright," Price told Goss.ie. JJ agreed saying it was "better than he expected". Cheeky Price did add: "Mind you, everyone has said today that he looked like my nephew."

Shyly, the pair revealed they had got to know each other before speculation had even began. Price said: "Put it this way, it’s not just quick, we got to know each other behind the cameras before anyone speculates anything."

Price has been married three times; she was previously married to Peter Andre, Alex Reid and Kieran Hayler. While she has only headed down the aisle three times, she has been engaged eight times. She was previously engaged to Warren Furman, Scott Sullivan, Leandro Penna, Kris Boyson and Carl Woods.

The Mucky Mansion has courted the attention of headlines over years from being invaded by rats to a fire and break-ins.

In Katie Price's reality series about her Mucky Mansion, builder Steve discovered a dead rodent by a vent after her home was infested by the creatures. On the show, he told Price: "This hole is where they're getting in. Basically they can grip to the wall, go up the brickwork and straight in."

The Mucky Mansion has caught on fire twice but there was no serious damage. In 2020, Price's representative at the time told The Sun Online: "I can confirm there was a fire on the grounds but no serious damage to the building.

"Eyewitnesses reported to the emergency services that the the house was on fire but thankfully it was brought safely under control before any serious damage was done to the building." It was first reported there was a fire at the Mucky Mansion in 2018 when Price's son Jett's bedroom caught on fire.

Last year, Price called the police after a man on TikTok sensationally claimed he was going to break into her home. In 2020, the Mucky Mansion was broken into twice. One of the break-ins was particularly devastating for the star who found the taps had been left on and her home was flooded.

Following the drama, the 19 bedroom home took centre stage in reality series Katie Price's Mucky Mansion. It took fans behind the scenes of the renovations Price made to the property to clean up its "mucky" reputation from rats to mess.

Price explained why she was taking on the big task to give the Mucky Mansion a makeover. She said: "My house has been called the Mucky Mansion in the past, but it’s not that anymore, I’m making it a home."

She further elaborated: "I'm getting my hands dirty and doing a lot of the work myself and, with the help of my amazing family and some brilliant friends, I'm putting the past behind me and rebuilding. My house is a bit like my life, it’s being put back together like I'm being put back together."

After transforming the place for the Channel 4 show, the Mucky Mansion became her "happy home". She said at the time: "I've put my touch on it, and so have my family. But this just goes to show you can turn things around, and I'm really proud of what I have achieved."

"This is my land and my house, now the house is coming back together like I'm coming back together," she added. "In the past this place has been called the Mucky Mansion, but it's not that any more, it's now my happy home."
