Kourtney Kardashian shares vulnerable post about postpartum photoshoot for ‘The Kardashians’

New moms know that there are so many firsts that happen in those early days and weeks after giving birth, and there’s a good chance you’re feeling all the strong emotions every step of the way. Kourtney Kardashian recently opened up about her return to work after welcoming her fourth child last November, sharing why she felt “blessed” to be able to bring her baby to work with her, even if she was “not quite ready” to pose for a photoshoot three months postpartum.

The 45-year-old was on call for a shoot to promote the fifth season of her family’s titular reality show, sharing the stage with her mom and sisters. But it seems she experienced heightened emotions about having so many eyes on her on set, so she reminded herself “how fun” it was to “get to be glammed up when [she’s] been home for months in pajamas.”

Sharing a series of gorgeous behind-the-scenes shots in a strapless, long-sleeved gown, Kardashian wrote in her caption: “I was 3 months postpartum and not feeling quite ready for a big shoot like this where there’s lots and lots of people watching me all day.”

“And even though my baby boy was with me all day on set,” she continued, “it’s not the same when I’m covered in makeup, in high heels and wearing a dress versus our snuggly days at home in pajamas.”

“But something I’ve been doing lately is shifting my mind set and thinking of the positives,” she added. “I am so blessed to be able to bring my baby to work. How fun to get to be glammed up when I’ve been home for months in pajamas. How blessed to get to work alongside my sisters and mom…we really have so much fun together! What a beautiful life!”

Though most moms likely can’t relate to the feeling of posing for a major photoshoot so soon after giving birth, many can surely understand the reality star’s hesitance about having to shift back into something different after time spent home with their little one. And Kardashian is so right: plenty of moms would dream about the ability to bring baby in tow to work (at least at first!), and she is lucky that her job allows her to do so. Being alongside her family members seems like the cherry on top for Kardashian.

If only all moms could have the ability and support to spend the time they want and need with their babies. The occasional glam session wouldn’t hurt, either, right mamas?
