Liam Payne reveals his cute nickname for baby son Bear

Liam Payne is in the middle of a promotional tour in the US to launch his solo career but to say that the timing is bad is a bit of an understatement, as he’s left his girlfriend, Cheryl, at home with their newborn baby Bear.

The 23-year-old singer is no doubt missing his little bundle of joy during his time away, though he has kept conversation about his partner and their offspring to a minimum during his official interviews.

And as you can imagine, loyal One Direction fans are dying to know more about his new role as a dad, and during a fan meeting in Chicago on Wednesday the star was bombarded with well wishes and questions about the little boy.

During the Q&A, Liam revealed he has a nickname for Bear.

Can you guess what it is? We actually did already! Almost two weeks ago…

Liam admitted that he sometimes calls the couple’s new arrival by the sweet name ‘Cub’. Aww.

The cute moniker was revealed when members of the public took to Twitter to share snippets of their chat from backstage at B96 Radio Station and one shared: ‘Here’s my experience with Liam Payne… He doesn’t remember what he last googled, he uses Air Pods and often gets mistaken for talking to himself. He loves In & Out Burger and Red Bull…

‘He made a human! His exact words: I made a human. I helped. She did the most **insert noise** only mothers would understand. He pointed to a mum, made the noise and said, ‘You understand.”

Then another fan added: “He said his proudest moment was Bear and said at first he called him Cub a lot.”

Meanwhile, we’re still desperate to hear Liam’s long-awaited solo material and we’ve been told it is taking so long because he is learning how to produce music and is being schooled by a string of top DJs.

But his first track is a collaboration with Ed Sheeran and needless to say, we can’t wait to hear what the pair have come up with.
