Lightwater Valley's new Rocket Rollercoaster open for May Bank holiday with discounted tickets

Light Water Valley is set to open a new ride this May Bank Holiday weekend following major investment for 2024.

The award-winning North Yorkshire family attraction says it wants to make sure it's offering to under the under-12s is the best around for the season ahead. The newest addition to the popular theme-park near Ripon is the Rocket Rollercoaster - dubbed a coaster ride with a difference.

It will join the Caterpillar Ride, which is a firm favourite among the under-fives, and the Ladybird Ride, loved by junior thrill seekers. The Rocket Rollercoaster is suitable for 10 to 12 year olds - as well as adults.

Lightwater Valley announced the official opening date of the new ride on Facebook earlier today. Sharing a sneak peek of the new ride the park posted: "The Rocket Rollercoaster - Launching this May Bank Holiday Weekend! It's all systems go as the clear skies make this the perfect weekend to launch our new coaster.

"So set your orbit for Lightwater Valley this May Bank Holiday Weekend and embark on an out of this world adventure! 3...2...1... BLAST OFF!"

It comes just weeks after the launch of another new ride The Safari Jeep Ride, which opened over Easter. Complete with larger-than-life model animals, visitors sit in their own Safari Jeep.

In addition to the two new rides, the shake-up at Lightwater Valley Adventure Park will also see the Soft Play Area and Lightwater Theatre relocated and extended. The Soft Play area is being relocated to give younger visitors more space.

There will also be special appearances from Bluey and Bingo in May and Peppa Pig & George in June.

The park also has areas for any visitors who need some quiet space, or peaceful places to take timeout.
