London Pride events taking place this weekend from walking tours to latex classes

We are in the month of Pride, where we celebrate and commemorate everything LGBTQ+ and recognise the influence of the community. With Pride Month having started on June 1, there are a number of Pride events taking place all over the capital in the coming month.

This weekend there are a number of fun events focussed on Pride in London. Below, MyLondon has collated a few that are featured on Eventbrite for you to have a look at.

Barnet Council Family Pride Event 2024

Sunday, June 9, 12pm-4pm

A special pride event takes place at Stephens House & Gardens in Finchley on Sunday, June 9 to mark Pride Month. Tickets are free and it will start at 12pm with speeches and a panel discussion. Then at 2pm there will be live entertainment and arts & crafts until 4pm. Get tickets here.

A Queer History of London - The LGBTQ+ Walking Tour

This walking tour delves into the history of queer culture of Central London and Soho looking not only at the culture of the past 50 years but 'stories of drag queens in the 1700s' and 'the 1920s secret gay soirées'.

The tour starts in front of The Clermont Hotel in Charing Cross and operates on a ‘pay what you think it’s worth’ basis. You can read more and reserve a spot here.

INCEPT: PRIDE

Sunday, June 9, 5.30pm-11pm

An evening of live music, DJs, acts and more at 21SOHO for INCEPT: PRIDE this Sunday. They have a variety of performances and a best dressed competition with the winner getting a £30 bar round of drinks.

Rainbow Pride LGBT+ Fundraiser

Saturday, June 8, 6pm-11pm

The Rainbow Pride LGBT+ Fundraiser is billed as a 'night of celebration and support for the LGBTQ+ community". The evening, at Longfield Hall in Knatchbull Road in Camberwell will have music and performances aiming to build community spirit. The event costs £22.38 with money raised aimed used in the LGBTQ+ community. You can get tickets here.

The House of Happiness - PRIDE PARTY'24

Saturday, June 8, 12pm-5pm

A day rave that is 'for individuals & groups who might be sober and/ or LGBTQ+ along with our amazing allies'. There will be DJs, dancers, lots of glitter and lots of fun. It will be at Fire & Lightbox in Vauxhall with tickets starting at £15.34. You can see more and get tickets here.

PINK FRIDAY PRIDE PARTY

Friday, June 7, 7pm-midnight

Forget Blue Mondays and get involved with Pink Fridays. Dogs and Dykes throw a monthly party for or 'all LGBTQ+ women inc non-binary, dog or no dog' called Pink Friday. In the month of Pride, their party is on Friday, June 7 and is at Zodiac Bar & Club in Hampstead. Tickets start at £8.30 and the party goes from 7pm to midnight. Get tickets here.

Marsha

Saturday, June 8, 10am-1pm

This is an 8km run put on by GAYNS, from Clapham Common Station to Battersea which finishes at No.29 Power Station West for a social. The run is the first of a series of three runs for Pride and this one has 100 free half pints of Rainbow Pilsner by Polari beer group available upon completion. Tickets are free and you can reserve a spot here.

Pride Intro to Latex Workshop

This workshop is a class that will give you a deeper understanding of latex and see you walk out with a small latex garment. The class is said to be fun, laid back and requires no prior skills. There are only five spaces for the workshop which is priced at £145. You can book your space here.
