Machete and drugs found during police vehicle stop in village

A man has been arrested on suspicion of multiple offences after police stopped and searched a vehicle in a village near Abingdon last night (July 2).

Police stopped the vehicle in Marcham after "information suggested it was being driven by a non-licence holder".

During the stop and search, Thames Valley Police made multiple discoveries, including a machete and the possession of cannabis.

The man was also found to be driving without insurance or a license, police said in a statement on Tuesday evening (July 2).

The Thames Valley Police Roads Policing Team say officers arrested the man for driving without a licence, driving without insurance, possession of cannabis, drug driving, and possession of an offensive weapon.

Marcham is a small village approximately two miles west of Abingdon.
