Watch: Ollie Locke announces he will soon be a father
Made in Chelsea cast member Ollie Locke has announced that he and his husband are soon to become fathers for the first time, via a surrogate.
The 33-year-old shared several videos on his Instagram page, recounting the couple's visit to a fertility clinic in Cancun, Mexico.
Locke and his husband, Gareth, both provided a sperm sample and the two were then mixed, so neither will know who is the child's biological father.
In one of the videos posted to his 466,000 followers, Locke showed the precise moment at which the couple were able to see their egg being fertilised.
In the caption, the reality TV star wrote: "I’m not crying, you’re crying! This is the very moment our eggs were fertilised… in 9 months time, after being looked after by a very wonderful human we hope to be able to show you what he or she looks like and how much love we have to give!
"I cannot wait to meet you little one and to be your daddy."
Locke shared a clip of the sample pot he was provided at the clinic, which prompted Gareth to joke in the comments: "They gave you a naff plastic pot?! I got a crystal tumbler."
The couple announced their plans to have a baby earlier this year, using an American egg donor and a British surrogate mother.
Locke said they opted for an American donor because laws in the UK do not allow couples to see what their donor looks like.
Locke and his husband have been friends for more than a decade, having met when they were both working as models.
They got together in 2018 after Locke failed to find a partner during a stint on Celebs Go Dating, and married in November 2020.
Locke was one of the original cast members of Made in Chelsea and came out first as bisexual and then as gay while appearing on the show.
Gareth, meanwhile, is a commercial director at luxury clothing brand Holland Cooper.
