MAFS UK’s Peggy and Georges announce break-up

Married At First Sight UK stars Peggy Rose and Georges Berthonneau have confirmed they’ve ended their relationship.

The duo stayed committed to each other throughout their time on the hit E4 reality show but have now announced they’ve parted ways.

Taking to social media, Peggy broke the news to her followers with an emotional statement.

Detailing the split on her Instagram Stories, Peggy explained why she’s spending Valentine’s Day alone.

"I’m so sorry I’ve been quiet on socials everybody but there’s a reason for my silence," she wrote. "Me and Georges are no longer together and I’m absolutely heartbroken.

"It’s affected my mental health and it’s taken me weeks to come to terms with it. But with it being Valentine’s Day, I can’t pretend to be okay.

"Thank you to everyone who has supported us on our journey… nobody is more upset about it than me."

Georges quickly responded with his own statement, explaining how he’s feeling following the split.

"Wasn’t expecting a statement from Peggy regarding this situation," he wrote on his Instagram Stories. "I’m heartbroken by our breakup and also trying to come to terms with life without Peggy.

"I appreciate a lot of you have questions, but I won’t be talking about this situation as of yet. Also thank you for the messages of support."

News of their split comes just weeks after the pair enjoyed a romantic trip to Paris.

However, this won’t be the last we see of Peggy and Georges as they’re due to return to our screens later this month.

The former couple will star in an upcoming MAFS UK reunion episode on February 26, catching-up with the other brides and grooms from season 8.

Married at First Sight UK airs on E4 in the UK. Married at First Sight Australia airs on Nine Network in Australia and E4 in the UK.
