A Ventnor man accused of failing to cooperate with police will go to trial later this year.

At the Isle of Wight Magistrates’ Court on Friday, May 10, Matthew Dowsett, of St Margaret's Glade, pleaded not guilty to failing to provide a specimen for analysis, failing to give information relating to the identification of a driver and failing to cooperate with a preliminary test.

The prosecution alleges that the 49-year-old refused to identify the driver of an Audi TT on Down Lane in Ventnor on April 25.

The case was adjourned ahead of a magistrates’ court trial on August 15, with Mr Dowsett granted unconditional bail.
