Man arrested after 'being caught driving under the influence of drugs'

A MAN has been arrested after he was allegedly caught driving under the influence of drugs. 

Officers from Police Scotland's Road Policing Unit stopped the motorist on Glasgow Road in Barrhead on Monday morning.

Police said the 27-year-old reportedly did not have a valid licence or insurance.

He also allegedly failed a roadside drug swab for cannabis.

The man was arrested in connection.

A report has been submitted to the procurator fiscal.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Early on Monday, July 1, police stopped a vehicle driving on Glasgow Road, Barrhead.

"The 27-year-old driver had no valid licence, no insurance, and failed a roadside drug swab for cannabis.

"The male was arrested and a report was submitted to the procurator fiscal."
