Man and woman charged in connection with attempted murder at Cambridgeshire allotment

A man and a woman have been charged in connection with the attempted murder of a man near Peterborough. The incident took place last month.

The victim, a man in his late 50s, was at his allotment in Burton Street, Eastgate, between 7pm and 8pm on June 15 when he was stabbed multiple times. He was left in a life-threatening condition.

He required extensive medical treatment at the Major Trauma Centre in Addenbrookes’ Hospital, Cambridge. The man is now recovering at home.

Mark Moss, 36, and Gemma Peterson, 37, were both arrested at their home in Branston Rise, Welland, Peterborough, on June 16. They were released on bail pending further enquiries.

They were both re-arrested on Monday morning (July 1) and have since been charged with attempted murder and robbery. They have been remanded in custody to appear at Cambridge Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday (July 2).
