Line of Duty star Martin Compston was captured by clubbers on the dancefloor at a daytime disco in Glasgow on Saturday.

The Scots actor joined 800 others at Day Fever, a new clubbing event for over 30s created by Compston’s co-star on the BBC’s cop drama, Vicky McClure.

McClure, husband Jonny Owen and Reverend and the Maker’s Jon McLure came up with the idea of the disco for “people of a certain age” to dress up enjoy the best chart music from 1955 to the turn of the century.

And the event at the Barras was a huge hit as hundreds of revellers danced in the sunshine for five hours.

Greenock-born Compston did a stage dive and was passed over the heads of the crowd.

A clip shared on social media, was captioned “absolute shenanigans”.

Day Fever has already been held in London, Manchester, Liverpool and Sheffield and is set to take place at Edinburgh’s O2 Academy on May 26.

McClure, who had visited the Horse Shoe bar when she arrived in Glasgow on Friday before joining friends for a meal at The Dhabba in the Merchant City, said: “Glasgow crowds are legendary in their love of music and it was great that a venue in the city was so keen to put on our day.”

Jonny added: “I’ve known and visited Glasgow since I was a teenager. When we started Day Fever I knew that we would bring it to Glasgow.”
