A fast food enthusiast has shared a McDonald's drive-thru trick for getting "hot and fresh" fries every visit.

The savvy TikToker shared his method on the @healthyjunkfood page, claiming it guarantees freshly cooked French fries each time you go to McDonald's. However, his tip has sparked debate among users in the comments section.

The @healthyjunkfood account is known for posting food hacks and reviews, and this particular advice is aimed at those ordering from the McDonald's drive-thru. According to the man behind the TikTok account, asking for unsalted fries is the secret to getting them served "hot and fresh" and even allows for an extra kick of flavour with more salt if desired, reports the Express.

He elaborated on his strategy in the video. He said: "Next time you hit up the drive-thru, ask for a medium fries with no salt.

"We all know they will make it fresh and hot this way. But, the new hack is when you roll up to the window and politely ask them for a medium cup and salt packets."

By following his advice, you're supposed to get a serving of freshly made, steaming hot fries. Then, it's up to you to season them to your liking.

The content creator added: "Pour a few salt packets into the cup, dump in your fries and shake them up". He said that due to the residual oil, the salt will adhere well to the fries, resulting in perfectly hot, fresh and salted fries.

Taking it a step further, the nifty trick provides a convenient fry-cup in your car's cup holder; perfect for an on-the-go snack. He added: "You can also secure the fries in the cup holder in your car. How convenient."

Despite the convenience, the TikTok comments section was divided. Some users were impressed, while others seemed unenthused by the idea.

One McDonald's staff member joined the conversation on the viral video and commented: "I work at McDonald's bro, they [are] usually always fresh. I work morning and night."

A contrasting view came from another TikTok user as they claimed: "You can also just ask for the fries to be [cooked] to order. They put them down when you order."

It's vital to note though, that the individual sharing these tips is stateside and what proves effective in American McDonald's might not hold true in the UK.
