Stars who neither confirm nor deny relationships are letting fans draw conclusions about their love life.

Mikael Daez, who has been rumored to be reigning Miss World Megan Young’s boyfriend, is no exception.

After being happy with the standard reply “We’re friends,” when pressed about Megan, the Kapuso actor is singing a different tune. He’s neither confirming nor denying the relationship.

Titles don’t matter

But the curious need not lose hope.

Mikael is dropping a few hints that will make you draw your own conclusions.

“She’ll always be my Miss World. Titles don’t matter. As long as she’s happy, I’m happy,” Mikael told Yahoo Philippines at the launch of Sun Cellular’s Shop on Wheels last Friday, November 28.

Green Cross’ advocacy campaign

Mikael will still be there for Megan when she comes home for Christmas after being away for a year because of her Miss World duties. He’ll still urge her to “ work hard, play hard,” their mantra for as long as he can remember.

Mikael himself is walking the talk. He planted mangroves in Puerto Princesa, Palawan for Green Cross Alcohol Philippines’ Do Good Get Dirty advocacy campaign.

“Sobrang lambot ng putik! I never knew how to plant mangroves but I had a super crash course on it. I feel good about it!”

Mikael’s eco-friendly moves don’t stop there. He plans to go to Tacloban soon to rehabilitate its reefs. And he’ll gladly pack his bags again for other Do Good Get Dirty campaigns.

Role model

Does he still have time despite his shows, “Bubble Gang”, “Ang Lihim ni Annasandra” and “Ismol Family”?

“If there’s a will, there’s a way,” Mikael beams.

Besides, being a role model is second nature to Mikael, who, as the second of 9 siblings, knows how to take care of those younger than him.

“I’ve taken care of my siblings in various stages of their lives and mine. Being a role model is something I had to do, even unconsciously.”

As 2015 beckons, Mikael is excited for the many doors the telecommunication industry is opening for him.

“It’s an important market and a great responsibility to work with them. It’s about trying new things and exploring new ideas,” Sun Cellular’s new ambassador explains.
