This Morning's Rylan Clark has made a rare comment about his divorce from ex-husband Dan Neal, after receiving a live proposal on the show.

Appearing alongside co-host Rochelle Humes, the two were introduced to an engagement ring during a money-saving deals segment with 'Coupon Kid' Jordan Cox on Monday's show (January 29).

"I'm quite nervous about this one," said Joe. "It's a question I've got for you Rylan actually."

"I know we haven't known each other long, but I have this," he continued, going down on one knee and presenting the former Strictly host with a ring box.

As Joe revealed the ring, a shocked Rylan quickly quipped: "Not again without a pre-nup," with his reaction prompting a laugh from Rochelle.

Rylan continued:"Thank you, Are you asking me to marry you?"

Joe later clarified that the question was instead whether he could guess the value of the ring. "Okay, I feel let down," Rylan replied.

After guessing the cost of the ring at £500, Joe revealed that the item was actually only worth a pound.

"You proposed to me with a pound ring," Rylan said faking shock.

Following his pre-nup response, the TV host teased that he would keep the £1 ring for "the next one". "I'll save myself a lot of money," he said.

The This Morning star split from his husband Dan Neal after six years together in 2021. Rylan has previously shared how the divorce was a catalyst for his mental health struggles, with him unable to eat or get dressed in the early days of the break-up.

"I just remember going to sleep at night after doing nothing all day, living at my mums, frightened to leave the house, didn't want anyone to see me" he told Matt Willis on his On The Mend podcast back in August 2023.

Following the break-up, Rylan took time out from his work, but the TV presenter has since returned to screens, regularly appearing on This Morning and continuing with his Radio 2 Saturday show.

This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV1 & ITVX.
