'First Zayn Malik Now Siva Kaneswaran!' The Wanted Fans React To Star's Engagement

The Wanted singer Siva Kaneswaran confirmed the big news yesterday that he's engaged to his girlfriend of six years, shoe designer Nareesha McCaffrey, leaving fans of the boyband star bombarding Twitter with congratulatory messages along with a few heartbroken posts.

The 25-year-old singer had been planning the big moment for weeks, and revealed during a chat with Hello! magazine this week just how hard it was not telling anyone, especially his bandmates.

"It was like a military operation to plan the proposal. I couldn't even tell the other boys in the band in case they blew the surprise."

Siva decided to pop the question during his own surprise birthday party, after discovering he was going to be thrown the bash by Nareesha. Turning the attention from himself to his gorgeous girl, Siva revealed how the moment unfolded:

"I said to her I wanted a present I would always remember this year by - for you to be my wife. I'd bought the ring months before I'd been trying to figure out the right time. I love her, I love every bit of her," he gushed.

While Siva and his new fiancee celebrate, there have been some fans left a little heartbroken by the news: "I actually did cry when I found out Siva and Nareesha are engaged...but I'm happy for them xx," one confessed.

Another was left bereft at the news which comes just a couple of months after One Direction's Zayn proposed to Perrie Edwards: "Every mysterious guy from a boy band is engaged now First Zayn Malik now Siva Kaneswaran. :'("

Others were happy though that Siva had finally got round to proposing, after six years with his gorgeous girlfriend: "Siva and Nareesha got engaged? Glad they didn't just rush into it like other celebs".

With one band member engaged, one keen fan was pushing for another: "Congratulations to them :) NARESSHA,SIVA,KELSEY AND TOM NEED TO HAVE A DOUBLE WEDDING. RIGHT. NOW. PLEASE. OMG".

While Tom Parker might be a way off proposing to his long term girlfriend Kelsey, he did offer a very sweet congratulatory message, as well as a plea for a role in the wedding:

"Just got to say I'm totally over the moon for @SivaTheWanted and @Nare_esha. I'm expecting a position as brides made ;) x"
