Carrie Fisher Heads To London To Film Her Appearance in Star Wars: Episode VII

She's already revealed she will be starring in the new Star Wars movie but could it be that Carrie Fisher has a bigger role than everyone originally thought?

Set to reprise her role as Princess Leia, the one she made famous in the original trilogy, Carrie will be heading to London this year to film her scenes as an older Leia.

But she reportedly revealed she will be in the UK for six months, which has led to speculation that she may be making more than just a cameo appearance.

Carrie Fisher is reportedly spending six months in London to film her scenes as Princess Leia in the upcoming Star Wars: Episode VII (WENN)

According to Jim Jeffries of American TV show 'Legit', Carrie, who stars in the second series of the comedy, told him she's heading to England to film for six months.

Speaking on Sirius XM's Opie & Anthony Show, he said: She's a funny lady, man. She'll be smoking cigarettes outside and as soon as she gets inside, she's straight on to the vapour. She's had some f**king hard partying in her life, I tell ya.

"She said to me, she goes 'I'm going off to London for six months to film the new Star Wars movie,' right? And I don't think from looking at it, the new Star Wars movie is a direct continuation. It's number 7 but it's not going to be the next day, I'll tell you that much. Maybe she had the same problem the Emperor had, I don't know."

Star Wars: Episode VII will be set 30 years after 1983's Return of the Jedi, which means Leia is probably in her fifies now.

Carrie, now 56, was just 21 when she landed the part of Leia in the first film, Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope.

And with speculation that Mark Hamill and Harrison Ford will return as Luke Skywalker respectively, could this mean the trio have a bigger part to play?

Neither have confirmed they will be signing on for the seventh film in the franchise, but according to actor Robert Englund, Hamill, now 62, is definitely on board.

Englund, who is best known as Freddy Kruger in the Nightmare on Elm Street film, is credited for pushing Hamill, who was then his housemate, to audition for the role of Skywalker back in 1976.

And speaking at Nashville Comic Expo last autumn, he told fans: "They've got Mark in the gym. Because Mark's coming back as Luke Skywalker. They've got him doing his sit-ups."
