Ed Sheeran Shows Off Rapping Skills On New Track 'Take It Back Now' (WATCH)

Ed Sheeran is a man of many talents judging by his latest single 'Take It Back Now' which sees the singer showing off his quick-fire rapping skills giving the likes of Kanye West and Jay Z a run for their money.

The 23-year-old crooner hit the stage at the Teenage Cancer Trust show at London's Royal Albert Hall last night where he reeled out his popular singles such as 'The A Team' and 'The A Team,' but the audience were in for a treat with Ed previewing a new song from his anticipated second album.

Accompanied by his trusty guitar, Ed rapped at impressive speed while performing 'Take It Back Now,' trumping his 2011 single 'You Need Me, I Don't Need You' on which he debuted his rapping skills.

Later in the show, Ed performed 'Tenerife Sea,' another song lifted off his upcoming album and which he debuted at New York's Madison Square Garden last year.

The Brit singer was also joined by 'Let Her Go' hitmaker Passenger for a duet of 'Heart's On Fire' while Ed's on-stage guest also took the chance to premiere 'Whispers' from his new album.

After singing rendition of 'I See Fire' which was written for The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug soundtrack last year, Ed joked to the audience: “It is difficult performing a song like this. Can you relate to it as an audience? I certainly can - I've spent my life looking like a Hobbit.”

Ed recently opened up about another track on his second LP which was written about his past relationships but it doesn't sound as though he's been very complimentary towards them.

“I tried other words, I tried 'mess,' I tried 'funk,' lots of other things, but none of them worked," Ed laughed to MTV News.

“I think if you're going to swear on a track, make it worth it. There's no point swearing just for the sake of it ... but, if taking away a certain cuss word lightens the load of a song, I don't agree with that. So, I've kept certain words in just because it makes the song what it is. But I'm definitely giving radio an edit they can play, because I'd be mental not to.”
