It's been a pretty crazy week for upcoming British singer song writer Tom Odell as he prepares for the release of his new album next Monday, as his beautiful single 'Another Love' has shot up the official UK singles charts despite receiving a shocking 0/10 for his new record from NME.

Well it seems as though the Brits Critic's Choice winner is having the last laugh now as it seems his single 'Another Love' is set to enter the charts at number 11 this weekend while his debut album 'Long Way Down' is expected to do big things when it finally hits the shelves next week.

Yesterday, NME confirmed the singer-songwriter's dad reacted as any doting father would to the magazine's scathing review and poor rating of the star's LP, fulfilling his embarrassing dad duties by phoning the mag to slam their horrendous write up.

Deputy editor Lucy Jones tweeted: “Tom Odell's dad just called the NME office to complain about his album review...”

But it seems readers are paying no attention to the controversial review proving there's no such thing as bad publicity as Tom looks set to score his first big hit this weekend as the chart is officially announced this week on Radio 1.

Someone who is a massive fan of the star is One Direction's Liam Payne who last month tweeted his adoration for Tom's latest single posting: “Absolutely addicted to Tom Odell -another love.”

So who needs NME when you've got the approval of one fifth of the biggest band on the planet?

Meanwhile at the top of the charts, Jason Derulo appears to be closing in on Robin Thicke's monster hit 'Blurred Lines' trailing at just 7,000 copies behind the sexy summer anthem with his new single 'The Other Side'.

While over on the album charts Black Sabbath are currently clinging on to the number one spot as ot stands with Kanye West's 'Yeezus' expecting to topple the band after landing at number three just 24 hours after going on sale.
