Newspaper delivery driver gets uninsured car seized by police

A driver delivering newspapers has had his car seized for not having insurance.

The driver was stopped by Wiltshire Police in Swindon at 4.30am this morning (April 6).

They had borrowed the car, a Toyota, from their friend but did not have insurance.

Wiltshire Specialist Operations said: “RPU [Road Policing Unit] stopped this one delivering papers in Swindon at 4:30am.

“We know it won't make the broadsheets, but the driver had borrowed it from his friend without bothering to insure it.”

Can I drive my friend’s car on my insurance?
