A holiday spot on the Norfolk and Suffolk border has been named one of the 10 most tranquil breaks in the UK.

The Guardian has included Fritton Lake in its round-up of the 10 UK destinations that "take tranquillity to the next level".

Fritton Lake is part of the Somerleyton Estate and has been a popular outdoor destination for families for decades.

It is only open to private members and holiday guests and around 1,000 acres of unspoilt woodland and lush meadows surround the lake itself.

Guests can choose from a range of accommodation options, from rooms upstairs in the Clubhouse pub and restaurant to more private farm cottages and cabins just down the lane.

The site offers amenities and experiences such as an outdoor pool, tennis courts, a wooden adventure playground and a floating sauna.

Plenty of species including water buffalo, deer, sheep and ponies can be found grazing around the lake itself and families can take part in safari, foraging and shelter building experiences during their stay.
