Banbury's bus station has been closed due to bad weather conditions and flooding with commuters asked to use Bridge Street.

Stagecoach Oxfordshire announced the timetable would remain the same with some possible delays.

One member of the public said the station was "very old" and "tired" and was "in great need of modernising to the 21st century".

The commuter added: "The buses as well are really old and dirty.

"Oxfordshire is a very wealthy county so no reason for it, spend the money on buses."

Another commuter said they had been on the Banbury to Over Norton service and praised the driver as "very friendly and helpful".

The heavy rainfall comes after The Met Office put in place a yellow warning on Tuesday for large parts of the country.

Thunderstorms have also been forecast in some parts of Oxfordshire including Abingdon, Watlington, Thame and Henley.
