Phoebe Dynevor and Simone Ashley Have a “Bridgerton” Reunion at the 2024 Met Gala Ahead of Season 3 Premiere

The actresses had a high fashion hangout at the starry event in New York City on Monday, May 6

The Duchess of Hastings and Viscountess Bridgerton reunited in style at the 2024 Met Gala.

Phoebe Dynevor and Simone Ashley, the stars of Bridgerton’s first and second seasons, respectively, enjoyed a high fashion night out in New York City on Monday, May 6, as they were photographed on the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art on fashion’s biggest night.

Dynevor, 29, and Ashley, also 29, were seen leaving the gala together, and Ashley was smiling as she descended the iconic steps alongside Dynevor. Dynevor wore a custom Victoria Beckham pink lace gown — the first time the designer has had her work worn on the carpet — with over 300 hand-cut flowers, while her costar wore a deep blue sequined dress by Nepalese designer Prabal Gurung that featured cut-outs at her waist and a deep V-neck.

Beckham, 50, told Vogue that the dress was designed with Dynevor specifically in mind, as she praised her acting chops, calling her “a beautiful, talented young woman.”

“I really wanted to design the gown with her in mind — to be almost like an extension of her. We even hand-dyed the flowers to match her skin,” Beckham said.

For Dynevor, being dressed by the Spice Girls alum was a dream come true. “Ten-year-old me could never have seen this coming,” she told Vogue.

Ashley and Dynevor were not the only Bridgerton stars to walk the iconic carpet this year. They were also joined by their onscreen husband and brother, respectively, Jonathan Bailey.

Bailey, who plays Viscount Anthony Bridgerton in the Netflix series, and wed Ashley's character at the end of season 2, wore a black-and-white Loewe look with two pale pink rosette details.

While they were not photographed together at the event, later in the night, Dynevor and Bailey returned to The Mark Hotel to change into new looks for the evening's afterparties. The duo exited the hotel together with Bailey, who plays Dynevor's older brother on the show, leading the way as he held the actress's hand. Dyenvor smiled and waved at spectators as they exited the busy hotel, where many of the night's A-listers stayed and got ready.

This year’s event was a lighter showing from the Netflix series, as only Dynevor, Ashley and Bailey, 36, made appearances, while in past years, there have been more of the show’s stars in attendance.

In 2022, Nicola Coughlan — who will take the helm of the series this season, alongside Luke Netwon — and Regé-Jean Page attended, along with Dynevor and Ashley. Last year, Bailey held up the Bridgerton family name and was the only star to attend the Met Gala.

The upcoming third season of Bridgerton, which premieres on Netflix Thursday, May 16, will be the first without Dynevor's character returning.

In January 2023, she revealed that she "sadly" would not be reprising her character, Daphne, but she is "excited to watch as a viewer" this time around.

She told ScreenRant that she could "potentially" come back "in the future," though.

Bailey and Ashley will both reprise their roles in the third season, as they take their place at the head of the titular family.

The actor has teased that the new season is "going to be tantalizing" as Newton, 31, and Coughlan, 37, take the helm. "It's going to be good," he told E! News last year. "My brother Luke Newton is bringing the heat with Nicola."

Season 3 of Bridgerton premieres its first four episodes on May 16, with the second half airing June 13 on Netflix. Seasons 1 and 2, along with the spinoff, Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story, are now streaming on Netflix.
