An Israeli child has sketched his harrowing recollections of the Hamas attack on Oct 7, showing terrorists shooting at a house and his father’s futile attempt to escape to safety.

The drawing captures the horrifying moment that Hamas gunmen stormed his family home in the city of Netivot, about six miles from the Gaza border.

The foreground depicts a terrorist wearing a black balaclava, commonly used by members of Hamas’s military wing, infiltrating a house while a siren wails from a police car on the streets outside.

In the picture’s top right corner, the boy’s father is drawn attempting to escape through a door in the ceiling of their home, only to find a terrorist waiting for him outside.

The background appears to portray high-rise buildings being hit with rockets.

It was not clear what happened to the boy’s father or the remainder of his family.

The boy who made the drawing is being sheltered in Bnei Brak, a city east of Tel Aviv. The Klil Milcchut Hall shelter in Bnei Brak, near Tel Aviv, was opened by volunteers to provide essentials such as food, clothing and entertainment to those who were forced to flee their homes following the Hamas attack.
