Police declare man's death on weekend to be Regina's 3rd homicide of 2024

Police are now investigating Regina's third homicide of 2024.

The Regina Police Service says the death of a 25-year-old man over the Canada Day long weekend has now been ruled a homicide after an investigation by police and the Saskatchewan Coroners Service.

Shortly after 10:15 p.m. CST on June 29, 2024, officers responded to the 1900 block of McIntyre Street after reports of a man who had been shot.

Despite life-saving efforts from investigators and paramedics, the man was pronounced dead.

Police have notified the 25-year-old's next of kin, but have not yet released his identity to the public.
