Police helicopter searches over city after report of man with knife

The police helicopter was searching over the city today after a report of a man with a knife.

Sussex Police officers were assisted by the National Police Air Service (NPAS) helicopter which was heard and seen above Brighton and Hove for more than an hour this afternoon.

A spokesman for the force said: "Police were called to a report of two men stealing a motorbike in Alfred Road, Brighton at around 11.40am on Saturday, May 25.

"One of the men is believed to have had a knife.

"A search is under way to locate the suspects, who are both travelling on motorbikes. One of the vehicles have been located by officers.

"Witnesses or anyone with any information is asked to contact police online or call 101 quoting serial 508 of 25/05."
