Two people have been arrested for shoplifting offences after police discovered bags full of stolen goods in the boot of car.

Police have shared these images tonight (Wednesday) of bin bags containing food, cosmetics, hardware and electrical goods in a vehicle they pulled over.

A police spokesperson said: “The occupants of this vehicle had been responsible for multiple shoplifting offences across Cumbria and Lancashire.

“This was the contents of the bin liners regarding shoplifting offences in Lancashire and Cumbria. We have yet to establish where it has all been taken from.”

The goods were believed to have been taken from stores including Sainsbury’s, B&M Bargains, Sports Direct and B&Q.
