Possible Tornado Hits Southeast Mississippi Amid Severe Storms

Tornado-warned storms hit the southeastern United States on Tuesday, April 5, bringing heavy wind-driven rain to Mississippi, video shows.

The Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT) shared this video from its Newton office as a possible tornado passed through the area Tuesday morning.

“Despite the rough conditions, our crews have been out since early morning hours working to get roads open for drivers as quickly and safely as possible,” MDOT wrote on Twitter.
